Jackson
Pollock

The closure of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation authentication committee in 1996, and the passing of Eugene Thaw and Francis O'Connor, authors of the Jackson Pollock Catalogue Raisonné, left a void in authenticating Jackson Pollock's art. We intend to fill that niche by offering a two-step approach. Richard Polsky Art Authentication will initially examine the artist's paintings on paper and canvas to determine the possibility of a work being genuine. Based on our analysis of the imagery and provenance, if we believe there's a high probability that the work's authentic, we will then refer the owner to Jennifer Mass, Ph.D. of Scientific Analysis of Fine Art, LLC for independent scientific examination and confirmation.

Through a combination of connoisseurship and forensics, we intend to provide clients with a thorough vetting service, that will hopefully go a long way toward solving one of the art market's most vexing authentication problems. While Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Keith Haring are the most faked Contemporary artists — Jackson Pollock remains the most forged Post-War artist.
